Provincial Grand Lodge of Dorset

The official website of Dorset Freemasonry

Welcome to Loyal Manor Lodge No. 6445

The lodge was consecrated on the 12th November 1947 by the then Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Dorset, the Right Honourable the Earl of Shaftesbury, with a list of members who have become synonymous with Dorset Freemasonry. The Loyal Manor Lodge was the third lodge to be formed on the Isle and Royal Manor of Portland and currently has a membership numbering in excess of 60. Members are made up of a mixture of predominantly Portland and Weymouth residents who are typically like-minded individuals and are enthusiastic about charitable activities and friendship.

We meet regularly to arrange and attend charitable functions, social events and ceremonies. Our members enjoy the variety of activities and challenges that Freemasonry has to offer and are proud to support the local and wider community in the process. We strive to carefully preserve our rich history and traditions, while at the same time adapting to the continuous challenges of everyday life.

Freemasonry inspires friendship, a sense of purpose, charity and encourages self-discovery and growth, but the most enjoyable and rewarding aspects are often individual to each member. It encourages the development of a persons moral and spiritual values, honesty and integrity - assets which are as valuable today as they ever were.
