Face-masks for Festival '25

Masonic Face Mask and shopping Trolly Token in aid of Festival 25,

Bridport based Freemason, Duncan McGhee has started fundraising for The Province of Dorset's Festival 25 appeal in support of the Masonic Charitable Foundation.

Duncan, a joining member at St. Mary's Lodge No 707, has designed square and compass face masks that craft members may purchase, ideal for the return to Masonic meetings or even a visit to the shops!

While the current pandemic has put a hold on the return to freemasonry for us in Dorset, the senior members of the province and building directors are assessing how we can safely return to our meetings. Members at the 17 masonic halls across the province are keen to reunite with each other but are also hugely aware of the risks associated with large gatherings. Face masks are now becoming a necessity in public life and these striking designs are a must-have for any member.

Duncan who has been a mason in London for over 20 years has purchased the masks at his own cost and will donate all the sales price to the Festival 25 fund. Duncan says 'My own move from the London area to Dorset and joining St Mary's Lodge 707 in Bridport pretty much coincided with the launch of Dorset's Festival '25.

'The Covid-19 pandemic will have long lasting effects on individual personal lives and also on institutions like Freemasonry where hundreds of years of tradition will have to be adapted.

'One thing that will remain resolute in every Freemason will be the genuine principles of benevolence and charity. The MCF launched it's Covid-19 appeal and has been helping communities and individuals up and down the country thanks to the generosity of people like you.

'I recently ordered an overpriced square & compass design face mask from a company selling for profit, having dabbled in promotional merchandising in the past I decided to order my own masks which I have donated to this page, all income received will benefit The MCF and Dorset Festival '25. These are premium 3 layer masks consisting of a microfibre middle layer with cotton inner and waterproof polyester printed outer layer. They are washable at 60 degrees and suitable for low iron temp.'
