Dorset Bikers Banner Tour - Stage Three

Undeterred by some very wet weather, the Dorset Masonic Bikers continued their trip round Dorset on Saturday visiting each of our Masonic Halls with the Tercentenary Banner. Before lunch, the banner and bikers visited Sturminster Newton and Dorchester Masonic Halls.

In the afternoon, Blandford and Wimborne hosted the group. They were made very welcome by the Worshipful Masters and members of the lodges and enjoyed looking at these lovely buildings.

What a great day they had, even though the weather was against them from the start. Arriving at Dorchester they parked at the Sportarm carpark with thanks for the owners for allowing them to do so.

After a photo shoot in the temple for the first, second, third and fourth time as others turned up (later than planned) they departed for Sturminster Newton.

Off to Sturminster Newton!

The route to Sturminster Newton was longer than initially planned but weather dictated a safer route, although still winding through the Dorset country side. The Bikers took the A352 towards Sherbourne, A3030 to Lydlinch Common and A357 to Sturminster Newton.

A great reception after parking in the small car park; thanks must be extended to the Lodge Secretary Geoff Chatten for arranging the table, Bar, Tea and coffee and Fish or Pie and chips for £5 a head. A fantastic lunch in the Lodge was had by all!

Blandford Bound!

Full and happy, off again in the rain to Blanford Masonic Hall, A357 to Durweston and A350 to Blandford parking in heavy rain in the shopping centre car park. Thanks again for great support from the Blandford membership with the Bar open for some welcome, cold soft drinks.

Wrapping up in Wimborne!

The bikers made their way to Wimborne Masonic Hall via A354, the Badbury Rings Road.

They parked outside the Lodge and after tea and biscuits (with thanks to Terry Fuller) the final photo shoot and Stage three was completed!

The fourth and final leg of the Banner relay takes place next week with visits to Kinson, Branksome, Poole, Wareham and Swanage! There will also be a special visit to Zetland Court at lunchtime!
