Dorset Masonic Bikers help raise funds for Lifelites

In true Masonic manner, members of Dorset Masonic Bikers joined motorcyclists and car enthusiasts from Lodges in Hampshire on a summer Rally to help raise funds in aid of Lifelites.

Lifelites provides specialist entertainment, educational and assistive technology packages to over 10,000 children and young people with life-limiting, life-threatening and disabling conditions in children's hospices. See www.lifelites.org for details of the charity and the good work they do.

The event commenced at Winchester Masonic Centre

RWBro Michael Wilks, Provincial Grand Master for Hants & IoW was on hand to drop the starting flag. Rally participants made their way through winding countryside to the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum in the New Forest.

A 1984 Kawasaki Z1300-6 was spotted in the car park

This classic model from the 1980's was a real credit to the owner who spent three years restoring her to pristine condition. I can only imagine how much time and money this project must have taken.

The Museum houses a vast array of classic sports, trials and racing motorcycles

Just look at this Scott 1000cc three cylinder in-line water cooled two stroke, it's difficult to believe that it was designed and built in 1935. Just goes to prove that there is nothing new under the sun.

My personal favourite

The event finished at Bournemouth Masonic Centre

What better way to round off the day than with a hog roast and a bumper raffle?

The sum of £600 was presented to the Provincial Grand Master who thanked all present. A total of £50,000 has now been raised which will enable vital new equipment to be purchased by the charity and maintained for a period of four years.
