MCF Tercentenary Community Awards

Three months ago saw the public launch of the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) Tercentenary Community Awards. The project has seen 300 charities sharing a total of £3 million. In Dorset we nominated four charities which in total would share £50,000. Each Charity submitted an application and a public online vote has determined the award to each.

We are absolutely delighted to announce the following Masonic Charitable Foundation Grants based on the nominations from within Dorset Freemasonry.

Veterans in Action - £25,000

Created in 2009 by three ex Royal Engineers the charity is aimed at supporting those that have been physically or psychologically injured while serving in our armed forces. This is achieved by our ALIVE programme, expeditions and events which encourages team work and engagement.

Mosaic - £15,000

We are a Dorset wide charity offering a pathway of support to bereaved children, young people and their families. We also work with young people who are facing the death of a loved one. We provide individual, family and group support. Every child has the opportunity to attend our residential weekend programme where they can meet others and share experiences.

Dorset Blind Association - £6,000

We provide practical help and support to enable people with sight loss to stay healthy and happy. Caring for people since 1918, we help 1,000 people every month, county wide, powered by our 400 trusted volunteers. We bring ongoing friendship and support so people feel positive about what they CAN do, to realise their full potential.

About Face - £4,000

We are a head, neck and face cancer support charity. We offer support at any stage of diagnosis and care for the patient, their friends, carers and family. About Face does not provide health care professionals but are well versed in one to one, or group support and awareness.
