For Province P0060 - Province of Dorset.
At the March Quarterly Communications meeting at Grand Lodge, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VWBro Nigel Leonard, was delighted to receive a cheque for £600 from the Provincial Grand Mark Master, RWBro Michael Whelan, as a very welcome donation towards the running of the two Masonic Trout and Salmon Fishing Charity (MTSFC) events held in Dorset each year.
The Masonic Fishing Charity's aim is to bring an interactive fishing and countryside experience to people with special needs.
It achieves this by running fishing events, both coarse and fly and inviting participants with special needs to come and join in. This includes anyone over 11 with mental or physical disabilities, the disadvantaged or those who have suffered trauma.
The Charity is a Masonic Initiative and is therefore funded by voluntary donations from Freemasons, Masonic Lodges and Provinces, Trust Funds or events organised by Freemasons. There is absolutely no charge to any of the participants or their schools or centres taking part.
RWBro Mike indicated that he wanted the Provincial Mark Lodge to show their support for Craft initiatives and it was felt that enabling special needs children to experience the joy of supervised coarse fishing was an extremely worthwhile charity which he was sure his own members would support wholeheartedly.
Very many thanks to Mike and his brethren for this excellent donation.
