Dorset Freemasons supporting Stur Ladies

Freemasons from Sturminster Newton are proud to support the Sturminster Newton Ladies' Football Team. Manager Lucy Johnson formed the team in February 2018 and since then the Stur Ladies have gone from strength to strength.

In the UK there are over three million female players actively involved in playing football. In Dorset we currently have 25 teams affiliated, so no matter what your ability or your age pick up a ball and join the many others who enjoy getting active. Stur Ladies train at two venues in North Dorset on Monday and Thursday evenings and welcomes new members, aged 16 to 50 years, via the 'Sturminster Newton Ladies' Football Team' Facebook page.

Sturminster Newton Masons raised £100 during their September meeting, which was presented to the team.

Manager Lucy expressed her gratitude and explained that the money would be spent on new footballs; 'We have entered the Dorset Recreational League and currently sit second in the table, thanks to our fantastic coach. We are a very inclusive group and warmly welcome new ladies. We would like to say a huge thank you for the support of community groups including the Freemasons who have offered us funding for training equipment'.

Blackmore Vale Lodge meets at the Masonic Hall in Church Street Sturminster Newton. The Lodge recently raised money to buy new gloves and headgear for the Sturminster Newton Amateur Boxing Club. All money raised by Freemasons is contributed solely by Freemasons.
