Universities Scheme growing in Dorset

London Haven Lodge No.7300, the Universities Scheme Lodge in Dorset, carried out its second double ceremony of University undergraduates when Daniel Berry and Christopher Wilmoth became Freemasons.

Dan is completing his final year of study in fine arts and Chris is carrying out work experience with a leading global and services technical innovator as part of his aero-space studies.  Dan, who enjoyed a guided tour of the Dorset Provincial Museum earlier this year, was able to discover how a number of items he had been shown were used during the ceremony.

WBro Richard Keen, visiting officer for the Universities Scheme congratulated the Worshipful Master, WBro Alan Webster on an impressive ceremony during which the working tools were immaculately presented by Fellowcraft Bro Chris Hare.  Chris was the first Dorset Initiate to join through the Universities Scheme and is enjoying his new role as a steward of the Lodge.  WBro Graham Lomax, Universities Scheme Lodge representative, who participated in the ceremony, said how impressed he had been with the knowledge of the two candidates.  Graham is preparing to exhibit at the annual University Freshers Fair this year.

VWBro Clive Deakin, coordinator the Universities Scheme in Dorset, welcomes enquiries from undergraduates at the Bournemouth University and the Art University Bournemouth.
